Sieg was born and raised in Muscatine, Iowa, to parents of German descent. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa, followed by a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, which he completed in 1996. Additionally, Sieg pursued post-graduate dual degrees in Social Psychology and Clinical Psychology.
His graduate training concentrated on the interactions between health and psychology, with a particular focus on how stress impacts psychological, neurological, and overall health outcomes. Sieg currently specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for addressing depression, anxiety, and anger issues. He also has extensive experience in trauma therapy and is passionate about giving back to the community through his volunteer work as a Mental Health Disaster Relief worker for the Red Cross.
Sieg works with clients ages 16 and up in the Muscatine office, emphasizing the importance of both physical and spiritual health in achieving successful mental health outcomes. He believes that a holistic approach to therapy leads to lasting and meaningful healing.
