Family Resources to make magic at annual Opening Doors Gala on April 6th

BETTENDORF, Iowa – Family Resources is looking to make a little magic at the annual Opening Doors Gala held Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. The evening includes magical entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, dinner, and a live and silent auction. Two local magicians, David Casas and Michael Sampson, will perform strolling magic during the cocktail hour. In addition, Clinton, IA native, Travis Hosette will sing Sinatra LIVE.

Gala attendees get to be part of the magic and hear about how their attendance is making an impact on families like ones enrolled in the TotalChild program.

As Family Resources’ largest fundraiser of the year, the gala hosts nearly 400 attendees and raises funds to fill critical funding needs across the agency. Last year, Family Resources provided direct services and awareness trainings to more than 40,000 individuals in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. By attending our gala, you are ensuring the continuation of crucial services such as emergency housing, group care, counseling and education.

“It is due to the collective support of our donors, volunteers, staff and community members that we are able to provide critical services in our community. We invite you to join us this year in making a little magic in the lives of the individuals, children and families we serve,” says Mary Macumber Schmidt, President of Family Resources.

We hope to see you on April 6! Reserve your seat or table at Formal attire is requested. If you are interested in sponsoring or donating to this event, please contact our director of development at or 563-468-2140. For sneak peeks on auction items, visit us on Facebook or Instagram.
