About Us

Braking Traffik is a program of Family Resources dedicated to eradicating human trafficking in Iowa and Illinois. We provide comprehensive services to survivors in Scott, Jackson, Clinton, Muscatine and Louisa counties in Iowa, and Rock Island County in Illinois. Braking Traffik works toward building a statewide collaborative response to human trafficking through education, legislative advocacy, and community partnerships.

Community Outreach
Braking Traffik provides training and coordinates efforts among social service providers, law enforcement, medical personnel, faith-based groups and others to ensure survivors receive the holistic care they need. 

Any Kid Anywhere
Braking Traffik's school program targets middle and high school students. Presentations are made in partnership with law enforcement to students and teachers about what human trafficking is, risk education, how to access help, and how to end trafficking demand. Hotel/Motel Project
We have partnered with area organizations to provide training to hotels and motels to raise awareness to of human trafficking and to advise on effective responses to suspected incidences. 

Volunteer Program
Multiple opportunities to volunteer with Braking Traffik are available. Community members can get involved in local anti-trafficking efforts. For more information, contact Maria Romero at mariar@famres.org or call 563-468-2385. 

Ways to Give

Donate: Make a tax-deductible donation today! Checks can be made payable to Family Resources, with "Braking Traffik" in the memo line and mailed to our main campus at 2800 Eastern Avenue in Davenport, IA 52803.

Advocate: Be an everyday advocate! If you feel that you have encountered a business involved with human trafficking, contact your local law enforcement agency. Attend a training, and learn the signs of trafficking. You can make a difference in your community.
