Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS)
BHIS is formerly known as Remedial Services, are supportive, directive and teaching interventions provided in a community-based or residential group care environment designed to improve the individual's level of functioning as it relates to a mental illness, with a primary goal of assisting the individual and his or her family to learn age-appropriate skills to manage their behavior, and regain or retain self control.
These skill include:
- Conflict resolution
- Problem solving
- Interpersonal relationships
- Social
- Coping
- Impulse control
- Communication
These services are provided in an individual, family and/or group setting.
Title 19 recipients with a mental health diagnosis are eligible for the services. If you are not Title 19 insured, other payment options may be available, please call the number below to inquire.

In Scott County, call Family Resources at (563) 445-0557 and ask for an LPHA Assessment to see if your child is eligible.
In Muscatine County, call (563) 263-0067 and ask for an LPHA Assessment to see if your child is eligible.
Service area includes Muscatine and Scott counties.
