The Wittenmyer Learning Center
is an Alternative Education Facility located on the Wittenmyer Youth Campus at 2800 Eastern Avenue
in Davenport, IA. The Learning Center was established in August, 2000
as a partnership between Family Resources and the Davenport Community School District. The
partnership was created to provide academic services to the residents of the Wittenmyer Youth Center,
as well as to students from area school districts, whose needs were best met in
a therapeutic and individualized setting.
The Wittenmyer Learning Center
is an institution with all educational staff certified by the state Iowa. The Learning Center
adheres to the Davenport Community School
District's curriculum, standards, and benchmarks
to assist in meeting the unique needs of each student. It is our goal at
Wittenmyer Learning Center to not only provide our students with the tools and
skills necessary to transition back into the public school setting, but to also
find success within themselves and motivation to be a productive member of
their community.
