Become a Volunteer Mediator

FACT:19,500 active volunteer community mediators in the United States

Volunteers are a crucial and inspiring ingredient to the fluid working of the Mediation Center of the Quad Cities (MCQC). The MCQC currently has approximately 25 active volunteers who supply help in the following capacities:

  • Mediate small claims at the Scott County Courthouse weekly (4 days a week) as required since January 2006.

  • Provide mediation at the MCQC office at 805 W, 35th Street, Davenport on a variety of disputes, such as neighborhood, landlord, workplace, etc

  • Consult with businesses requesting help in high conflict departments within their organizations.

  • Conduct intake interviews with people inquiring about mediation services.

  • Help with mediation trainings.

  • Provide mini-educational presentations throughout the community to organizations that would like more information on what the mediation center provides and how it serves the community at large.

Unless previously trained in mediation by another organization, all volunteers will be required to attend the 24 hour “Becoming a Mediator” training. Download an application.
