Training to Become a Volunteer Mediator

Becoming a Mediator:

Mediation training is a 24 hour (3 consecutive days) course that begins with participants learning about conflict and how they and other people handle conflict. The class ends with the ability to observe mediators at court. Participants will then be encouraged to continue to observe and move toward being the mediator.

This class is offered 3 times throughout the year, the 2008 Schedule is as follows:

  • February 6-8, 2008
    June 25-27, 2008
    October 22-24, 2008

  • Cost: $500

  • Volunteers pay $75 and commit 2 hours per month for 12 months.

  • (Volunteer Application and Contract provided upon request)

Friendly Style Profile:

Participants learn about their conflict style and how they tend to interact with others styles. Guidance is given on how best to communicate during calm and high stress situations.
