Special Needs Adoption Program

Family Resources, Inc is a partnership agency with Iowa KidsNet to provide services to families who would like to adopt children through the child welfare system. Families must contact Customer Service at 1-800-243-0756 to register for an orientation to begin the home study process. The process includes attending an orientation meeting, attending a 10 week parenting preparation class, and collaborating with a home study worker to complete a home study. The home study includes reference checks, criminal, child abuse, and sex offender background checks, a medical physical, a financial assessment, and several home visits to complete the personality and childhood assessment.
