In-Home ServicesIn-Home Family Centered-Brief Intensive Services, BIS:BIS is a grant funded program that serves Scott County. The funds for this program are provided through Scott County Kids and the United Way of the Quad-Cities. BIS serves families with children ages 6-17 in their home who are not involved with the child welfare system or the juvenile court system. Families may refer themselves or be referred by schools, the police department, the Iowa Department of Human Services, or another community entity. This is a voluntary program and requires families to participate in a Family Team Meeting to identify the goals of the service. The services include, but are not limited to, counseling, parenting skills, role modeling, crisis intervention, referrals to other community resources, and other skill building work. Families can receive services up to six months and are asked to participate in surveys after case closure. Referrals may be made to Jenny Kerr, Associate Director, 468-2141. Remedial ServicesIn-home services to families who receive Title 19 insurance with children ages 4 and up. The identified child must be seen initially in the office for the initial consult per Title 19 and then services may continue within the home environment. Services include parenting support, individual/family counseling and therapy services, play and art therapy, anger management/behavior intervention. Skill development may also be provided regarding parenting, communication, and social skills. These services are private and are not connected with the child welfare system. Community Adjustment Program (CAP)Services for children and their families to ensure a better adjustment back into the home and/or a community placement after discharged from a detention center and/or a juvenile delinquency program. The services include monitoring any probationary requirements, assisting the child and their family with the transition. Referrals may only come through Scott County Juvenile Court. |
