Rape and Sexual Assault Program

Sexual violence occurs when ever a person is forced to submit to another person against her/his will. It is a crime that involves power as the motive with sex as the weapon; sexual desire is not the motive.

You did NOTHING to provoke the rapist. You are not at fault.

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted . . .

  • Call our 24-hour crisis line to receive medical and legal information

  • If you choose to seek immediate medical attention:

    • Go as you are, do not bathe

    • Try to remain calm

    • You can request an advocate

Try to remember all you can about your offender. If you choose to report the crime remembering things such as the offender’s age, height, weight, scars, clothing, what was said and any other identifying information will help the police apprehend and prosecute.
