Leslie Program

Secured Residential Treatment

The Leslie Program is a secured residential setting for males 12-17 years of age who are adjudicated delinquent and demonstrate a need for a secured setting based on criminal history, substance use, and/or history of elopement. Given that we recognize the need for secured placement may vary, we offer flexible and individualized programming in order to best meet the goals of each resident. The main focus of treatment at the Leslie Program is addressing a child’s chemical abuse/dependency, criminal thinking, and conduct disorder issues. The program incorporates componenets of guided group interaction, cognitive restructuring using the research based TruThought curriculm, positive peer culture, skill development, behavior management, relapse prevention, and the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous. The living unit houses up to 16 boys.

Generally speaking, treatment is provided in a group setting. The group concentrates it’s efforts on changing criminal and addictive thought patterns on a cognitive level. Milieu Management components are utilized to teach social skills, and create as family style living atmosphere as possible given the secure nature of the program.
